Oh, What a Grevillea – Rodney’s Top Five

Lady O is a stunning medium shrub that grows to approx 1-1.5m tall and 1.5 wide. With gorgeous scarlet flowers that make a wonderful show from early winter to mid summer, this is the ideal plant for filling in areas in the garden or to use as an informal hedge. Light pruning after flowering or to remove spent flowers is all that is needed and fertilise with a Garden Gold for Natives.

Grevillea rhyolitica “Duea Flame”

Duea Flame is a medium shrub that will give great splashes of beautiful colour around your garden. With large red flowers that begin in early winter and finishes in Summer, this shrub grows to 1-1.5m high and 1-1.5m wide. Prune annually and fertilise throughout the year. A great shrub and all rounder.

Pink Midget describes this bush beautifully, with a height of only 30cm and a width of 60cm. Gorgeous delicate blush pink flowers, that flower through spring to mid summer, this is a must in any garden. With only light pruning needed and fertilise with Garden Gold Native, a couple of times a year, you will keep this beauty looking great all year round.

Grevillea Mount Tamboritha

Mt Tamboritha is a fabulous ground cover for the garden that grows prostrate in an area 2.5 x 2.5m. With delicate red/pink flowers that last from autumn to spring. This is a great plant for brightening up the garden through winter. There is no need to prune, and is a great groundcover for stopping weeds from coming up and keeping moisture in the soil.

Ned Kelly is a fast growing shrub with deeply divided, stiff dark green leaves on long branches. With large showy orange red brush flowers throughout the year. Plant in a well drained, sunny position and prune throughout the year to maintain bushiness. This is a great bird attracting plant and will look amazing in the garden with the flame like flowers against the dark green leaves.
