Summer is here with those warmer days giving everyone something to talk about. Christmas is fast approaching and the shopping for those special gifts is underway, as well as those catch-ups with friends and family that we never seem to manage throughout the year.
Christmas shopping is easy at Rodney's, with a range of products that will be enjoyed by the whole family. Emma and Cheryl have bought some fabulous giftware in with new ranges of Laura Ashley, divine women's summer clothing, children's toys, and gardening sets, not to mention some stunning pots that you can choose a perfect specimen plant to pot into it. Or for that hard to buy person, why not get them a Rodney's gift voucher? Come in and see us, we will gift-wrap for free you're chosen gifts for you, and you can sit and relax with a coffee in the café.
There are heaps of activities happening at Rodney's in December, with our final Tuesday Talk on the 17th, Carols by Candlelight on Thursday 12th, the café will be open that night if you would like to book for dinner (a great way to catch up with friends). We also have our Christmas and Outdoor furniture catalogue sales on until the 24th December.
We at Rodney's have had a great year, working with all of you and hearing of your successes in the garden. We appreciate your support of our independent family business, and we look forward to sharing another great year with you in 2014.
From all of the staff at Rodney's we wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Autumn, one of my favourite times of year. With these stunning days and cooler nights it makes it a nice time to be in the garden. I have been working on our vegetable garden, planting all of the delicious veggies that we use through winter, like broccoli, cabbage, beans, onions, and beetroot.  Autumn is one of the best times to plant, as the ground is still warm and plants have time to establish themselves before winter and then when spring arrives, everything is ready to explode with growth.

To help you along with your gardening, why not join us for our Tuesday Talks? Filled with information, tips and answers you can sit back, relax and listen while having a delicious complimentary devonshire tea. Visit the Tuesday Talks page for times, dates and topics.

There are always new plants being released that are interesting and beautiful, and in autumn we tend to see quite a few new releases coming up for sale, so it is always worth your while to regularly come and have a wander around the nursery to see what is available and inspirational.

There are a couple of busy months ahead of us with Easter, Anzac Day, and Mothers Day. The nursery will be open throughout all of the public holidays with normal trading hours except for Good Friday where we will be opening at 11am. The café will only be closed on Good Friday and will be open every other day. We will be having our Children's Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday 5th April, check out the hunt page for times and age groups, as well as to book your children's place.

To spoil your mum on Mothers Day then why not book into the café for a beautiful breakfast, lunch, or afternoon tea. If you’re looking for that special gift, then a trip to the nursery will give you the perfect present. Choose from our beautiful women’s wear range including gorgeous gumboots, gardening clogs, gorgeous gloves, delicious candles and beauty products, or that perfect plant and pot. We will even gift-wrap for you. We look forward to seeing you.

Happy Gardening, Rodney
